The video submissions are made public because we think of them as valuable learning materials for the whole school. It's not just the student who submits the video that benefits from the instructor's response; it's everyone who watches the Video Exchange.
We understand your preference for privacy but keep in mind that only fellow students from your music school can see the Video Exchanges. You'll quickly find that everyone is very supportive and encouraging. It wouldn't be fair to the other students to have certain submissions be private as it's all a part of the greater learning experience.
Once you watch a few of your peers' Video Exchanges, you'll see why they're so valuable. You'll see submissions from students with varying ranges of playing ability. Some will be equal to yours and some will be more advanced or less advanced. The response your instructor gives each student will also apply to you and, in this way, the community learns from each other.
If you're still not sure, please check out our FAQ to see some of the creative ways other students are submitting videos while maintaining privacy.
